Introduction

• The New Car Dealers Foundation of B.C. will award CarCareerBC Education Grants to eligible students in British Columbia who wish to pursue a course of post-secondary education leading to a career in the automotive industry. The New Car Dealers Foundation of B.C. invites applications from young men and women who have established residence in British Columbia by living in the province for twelve consecutive months during the year prior to applying for the Education Grant
• A CarCareerBC Education Grant will provide financial support towards the cost of tuition and books for recipients enrolled in approved automotive career apprentice and training
• A CarCareerBC Education Grant selection will be made by a committee of the New Car Dealer of British Columbia Foundation
• A CarCareerBC Education Grant award is contingent upon the applicant being accepted or currently enrolled in an approved automotive career training program in British Columbia
• The Award Committee will be looking for candidates who have a serious interest in working in the Automobile Industry in British Columbia and who have the desire and qualifications to succeed. Candidates will be judged on the basis of the substantiated information contained in their application, support material and recommendations provided

• For the year 2012, there will be several awards, ranging in value between $1000 and $5000
• The 2012 application must be post-marked or received on or before May 15, 2012. Applications must be emailed to opportunities@carcareerbc.ca or mailed to:

• Notifications of Education Grant Awards will be made no later than September 1, 2012
• The Education Grant will be forwarded once official confirmation of enrollment is received

• Courses in all ITA recognized Automotive Apprentice Programs offered at British Columbia Post-Secondary Institutions
• Courses in all ITA recognized Automotive Foundation Pre – Apprentice Programs offered at British Columbia Post-Secondary Institutions
• Courses in all training programs offered in British Columbia by Automotive Training Centres
• Courses in the Canadian Dealership Management Program offered by SAIT and BCIT
• Courses offered by the Canadian Automotive Institute at Georgian College

Education Grant Requirements

All Applicants

CURRENT SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS must submit:

• A completed application form
• A signed copy (by teacher or principal) of most current report card
• One page essay of career goals
• Reference Letters
• Proof of acceptance to an eligible program
• The 2012 application must be post-marked or received on or before May 15, 2012

SECONDARY SCHOOL GRADUATES AND CURRENT POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS must submit:

• A completed application form
• A certified, final copy of official transcript (Grades 11 & 12)
• A certified copy of current post-secondary transcripts (if applicable)
• One page essay on career goals
• Reference Letters
• Proof of acceptance to an eligible program
• The 2012 application must be post-marked or received on or before May 15, 2012
